The Sacramento River is a premier salmon fishery located in the Sacramento Valley of Northern California and currently holds the state record for the largest Chinook Salmon ever caught...88 lbs. I will customize the trip to fit your needs. You can fish by yourself, with buddies, or the whole family. The fish are chrome fresh early in the season in the lower river. I fish mostly near Chico, California, where there is plenty of lodging and things to do. The fall "run" opens July 16th and kicks into high gear in August. Peak season is August and September. Some of the largest fish can be caught in November and December.

Fishing methods are back trolling sardine wrapped quickfish or bouncing and side drifting expertly cured roe. All tackle is provided or you can use your own if adequate. I use the best equipment available, such as custom made rods by Raptor using G. Loomis blanks and Penn international reels for pulling plugs and back bouncing roe and custom made spinning outfits by Raptor Rod Works for side drifting roe.
